Kieran was appointed to the post of Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) in September 2009 and has been on the Audit Office Senior Management Team since the late 1990s. Previous posts included, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General, Head of Value for Money Audit and Head of Financial Audit. Kieran is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. Since his appointment as C&AG he has produced over 200 public reports on a wide range of value for money, governance and financial management issues.
In 2019, he was made a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the Queen’s birthday honours list for services to the Northern Ireland Audit Office.
