Before joining BSO in April 2016, Mr McIvor was the Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. He was first appointed to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service in 2001 as its Director of Operations. He was the manager for ambulatory care at the Royal Group of Hospitals having previously held general management positions in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. Liam joined the health service after a career in retail management with British Home Stores.
Liam holds a B.S.Sc (Hons) from Queens University, Belfast and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, from University of Ulster. He is currently Vice Chair of the Representatives Group for the Northern Ireland Confederation, and a member of the Council of the NI Chest Heart & Stroke Association.
