October 11 2011

The UK public sector has lost nearly 250,000 jobs in a year; unemployment is rising; spending cuts are biting. How is change being managed in agencies affected? What sort of strategies are being adopted and how are public sector businesses being re-engineering their businesses?

This breakfast briefing focused on the strategic role that the human resource (HR) function plays in working through major changes underway in various parts of the public sector and on how strategies for change are formulated, directed and managed in the downturn.

Our speaker was Angela O'Connor formerly with the National Policing Improvement Agency where she was head of profession for police HR staff in England and Wales and led on police learning, development and leadership, and people strategy. She is now the CEO of The HR Lounge, a very successful HR services company.
