Adjusting to a changed world: "The New Normal" is something of a buzzword, a sort of shorthand for communicating a sense that the world is in the midst of changes so fundamental that people need to re-order their thinking about what is going on around them. It has been applied to all sorts of phenomena including familiar and ubiquitous spin-outs of the digital revolution. But when a number of chief executives, other senior officials and experts from the professional services firm PwC met to discuss the concept of the New Normal they did so in quite a specific context: the outworking of the world financial crisis and the new economic order it is giving rise to.
Dr Andrew Sentance CBE led the discussion. Andrew is a former member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee and Chief Economist at British Airways.
A report on the discussion will appear here. Meanwhile please contact Kim McKnight, (T) 02890347400 for more information.
