Integrating Risk into Performance Reporting

CIMA Ireland will host a conference on Tuesday 24th September 2013 entitled "Integrating Risk into Performance Reporting". The conference, which is sponsored by The Chief Executives' Forum and Invest NI , will explore the interface between performance management, risk management, company strategy and enterprise governance and will address the theme from industry/corporate and academic research perspectives.
The academic research session will be delivered by Regine Slagmulder, Professor of Accounting and Control at Vlerick Leuven Gent Business School, Belgium.

Prof Slagmulder is author of the CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) 'Integrating Risk into Performance' report and has a particular expertise in performance and risk reporting, She will present an overview of companies' practices in performance and risk reporting to the board of directors and analyse the content and level of sophistication of management reporting to the board, and the determining factors such as board involvement in the company's strategy process.

Dene Burke, Director - Audit Advisory Group at Deloitte, will host a session on Project Assurance and risk reporting to the board, highlighting the importance of integrated risk and performance reporting at a project Level.

Mel Chittock, Director of Finance and Operations, Invest NI will present on the corporate perspective. Mel has previously worked at Telecoms Giant Plessey Group (part of GEC plc) and several international businesses in Asia before joining IDB and then being appointed Finance Director in 2004.
