Chief Executives’ Challenge Event: an engagement exercise for public sector leaders

June 26 2015

These 'think piece' reports are being prepared at present and will be ready for circulation in the days prior to 26 June 2015. The reports will form the core content of the Challenge Event, when all members (or their nominees) will be invited to respond, amend or add to these initial views, to form a single collated response for submission to the Minister.

Background

Under the direction of the Minister of Finance and Personnel, a series of engagement exercises are underway to determine ways to best progress Innovation and Reform across the Public Sector in Northern Ireland. The Chief Executives' Forum (CEF), in cooperation with staff from the DFP Strategic Policy and Reform Unit, has been invited to gather the views of its members in order to contribute to this engagement process.

The Forum has been asked to consider four specific areas within the Reform Programme. These are:

  • Leadership
  • e-Government/Digitisation
  • Culture Change
  • Rewards and Recognition

Four sub-groups have been established and they are currently meeting to develop initial proposals for each topic, which will be circulated in due course and will be discussed at the Challenge event.
