The Transformative Leader

Outcomes based leadership through the pandemic and beyond

We are delighted to join with Michael Dunlop, OR Training & Development to offer this virtual programme, delivered in bitesized chunks from March – June 2021.

The programme will provide an environment for a group of up to ten senior leaders across Northern Ireland’s public service to share experiences and learning, discuss challenges and build relationships and networks.   Involving a total of 17 hours across four months, the programme will provide access to a practical set of skills, techniques and principles for dealing with the challenges, opportunities and responsibilities of leadership, enabling participants to become more effective in life, both professionally and personally.

It includes three key elements:

  • A series of five webinars each lasting 1.5 hours
  • A series of five facilitated group sessions each lasting 1.5 hours scheduled in-between each webinar, enabling participants discuss, digest and contextualise the learning from the webinars,  creating a ‘community of practice’ through which participants can share learning, collaborate and build networks. Research has shown that this approach can help support the creation of support networks beyond individual programmes, and can encourage the most important aspect of true collaboration in the public sector: trust.
  • Two individual coaching session after webinars 2 and 4, enabling participants to discuss programme content in greater depth as it relates to their professional circumstances.

Using approaches developed from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) & Systems Thinking, the programme will guide participants on how to become more aware of their own habitual patterns and those of the people around them, and how small changes in your behaviour can improve outcomes by increasing their ability to understand, influence and engage more effectively with colleagues.
