Covid-19 Recovery: What can we learn from other disasters?

April 15 2021

As the vaccination programme ramps up and we experience the first signs of opening up, we can begin more proactively to think about recovery and rebuilding.

Given the extent of the challenge, the Chief Executives Forum, NICON and NICVA are delighted to be collaborating to invite you to this discussion session, with Julia Cream and colleagues from the King’s Fund to discuss their report Covid 19 recovery and resilience: what can health and care learn from other disasters?

In the session Julia will outline learning from the recovery processes after the earthquake in Christchurch, Hurricane Katrina, and Grenfell Tower amongst others to discover what are the key priorities for recovery.  Key amongst these: leave no community behind, make collaboration work and prioritise workforce wellbeing.

Following this overview, we will hear from some local leaders about their reaction to the report and their own emerging ideas on rebuilding.
