Shaping the post-pandemic workplace: How BT and NICS are planning for the future

May 12 2021

We are delighted to welcome Sue Glew, BT’s Programme Director, The Better Workplace Programme and Brent Mathews, BT’s Director of Property & Facilities who are leading BT’s five year programme to improve and consolidate its workplaces across the UK.

This significant project, which launched in 2019 involves the consolidation of more than 300 locations to around 30 modern, future-fit buildings, including corporate offices, contact centres and specialist sites. Belfast was one of the first eight sites to be identified, and work to transform the Riverside Tower is now at an advanced stage.

At this event, Sue and Brent will outline the strategic vision behind the project and provide an insight on how BT is addressing the challenges it faces in rolling out the project and how staff are an integral part of the journey.  They will reflect on how the pandemic has impacted on the delivery of the project and on the changes it has necessitated.

We will also hear from Derek Kennedy, Director of the NICS’s Reform of Property Management and Recovery Programme.  This programme encompasses the accommodation footprint; the people experience and digital sharing tools.  Its initial focus is around the opening of offices and getting them safe, but it also includes a focus on what new ways of working will look like, ensuring that the beneficial processes and practices adopted during the pandemic are retained and built upon.

This is an interactive event at which delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the issues with our panellists.
