The Chief Executives’ Forum is delighted to host the launch of the Northern Ireland Audit Office’s new Good Practice Guide on Innovation.
As demand increases for better, more responsive services at a time when public finances continue to be under pressure, the NIAO recognises that it is essential that public bodies identify new ways of operating and delivering services.
This Good Practice Guide is intended to generate discussion and encourage public servants to consider what can be done differently to generate better outcomes. It discusses the perceived barriers to innovation, as well as the key enablers. It highlights that risk is part of the innovation process which should be managed rather than avoided. The guide also highlights the hugely important role of leadership in influencing and shaping a culture that encourages, enables and embeds innovation.
