CEF is delighted to join with the NI Council for Voluntary Action to host this session examining how we can work better across our sectors.
At this event, hosted by CEF Chair, David Sterling and Celine McStravick, Chief Executive of NICVA, we’ll hear from Ruth Marks, Chief Executive of the Wales Council for Voluntary Action. The event is part of NICVA’s ‘Future Thinking Series’ through which the sector is examining the potential for future growth, development and innovation in a number of areas.
Ruth Marks will reflect on the passing of the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act 2023, which sees the creation of a statutory social partnership framework, and a statutory obligation for public bodies to deliver socially responsible procurement, putting environmental, social, economic and cultural well-being at the heart of an £8bn annual procurement spend.
At the event, we will also hear from the co-chairs of the Northern Ireland Joint Government and Voluntary Sector Forum Sharron Russell, Dept for Communities and Denise Hayward, Volunteer Now. This event is free of charge to CEF members.
