UNLOCKING POTENTIAL: AI IN NORTHERN IRELAND'S PUBLIC SECTOR

As we seek to harness the potential of AI to support the transformation of public service delivery, CEF is delighted to join with EY for this briefing event examining the effective use of AI in public services

This event will include contributions from Catriona Campbell, Chair of the Scottish AI Alliance and EY's UK and Ireland Chief Technology Officer.  The Scottish AI Alliance sits within the portfolio of the Minister for Small Business, Trade & Innovation, and is tasked with the delivery of Scotland's AI Strategy. It provides a focus for dialogue, collaboration and action on all things AI in Scotland.

We will also hear about successful AI applications across public services, with extensive opportunity to discuss all aspects of the integration of this developing technology.

The opportunities from AI for innovation and modernisation are significant, including potential for improved efficiency and cost savings; enhanced service delivery; improved decision-making based on insights and evidence from vast datasets and predictive modelling; greater accessibility and inclusion.  However, public service leaders will be conscious of the challenges in adopting these technologies.  Apart from constraints around funding, IT infrastructure and availability of technical expertise, the technology creates ethical concerns in relation to bias, transparency and accountability; issues around data privacy, quality and integration and potential issues around regulatory compliance and liability.  Public servants must also consider how this technology impacts on trust with citizens. There will be opportunities to discuss these issues and more at the event.

A networking breakfast will be available from 8:30am and the event will commence at 9:30am and conclude at 11:30am.

The event is free of charge to CEF members, and can be booked by clicking on the REGISTER button above and enter the password 'topcat' when prompted.
